Fit Factors
What Changes Where a Necklace Rests?
Neck size
The same chain sits higher on a broader neck and lower on a
smaller neck.
Pendant size
A larger medal adds to the complete drop and can appear to
sit lower.
Pendant weight
A heavier medal gently pulls the center of the chain farther
down.
Chain thickness
Heavy curb chains have greater visual presence than fine
chains.
Clothing
Consider whether the necklace will be worn above or beneath
the shirt.
Personal preference
Some people prefer the medal higher, while others prefer it
lower on the chest.
Measure Before Ordering
Two Easy Ways to Confirm the Length
1
Measure an Existing Necklace
Choose a necklace that fits comfortably.
Lay it flat without twists or kinks.
Measure end to end, including the clasp.
Compare the measurement with 18 or 24 inches.
2
Use String or Measuring Tape
Place flexible tape or string around the neck.
Position it where the necklace should rest.
Mark where the ends meet.
Lay it flat and measure the total length.
Remember the pendant drop:
The stated chain length does not include the medal. Add the
medal’s height, including its bail, to estimate the complete
visual drop.
RosaryCard Recommendation
